But, how do you buy a new one to enjoy a maximum speed performance. Specifically, do you think that a new device will help you keep pace with system requirements for the newly introduced games. Did you know you can do this yourself without buying a new computer? Try to make a computer upgrade.

You can do a computer upgrade in so many ways. Here are some of them:

1. Clean files and hard disk drive – You know that by simply wiping the inside components of the computer you already enabling it to improve performance? Did you also know that installing everything as if they used a new computer afterwards? Yes, all these are also a way to upgrade your computer. These can be incredible to some, but these are so true. These processes can also take time, but it’s worth it.

2. Memory upgrade – of course, to experience the ultimate speed of your computer, you must upgrade the memory. If you are interested in doing a memory upgrade, do not think twice to give in to your interest because it is so easy to do. But the problem is to know which module to insert. Therefore, you must identify the type of memory first. Later you will know what module you specifically require.

3. Hard Drive Upgrades – Hard Drives usually last two to three years. So, after this period your hard drive may lose its influence on your computer. To achieve maximum speed, buy a new one. It can write and read information quickly. Do not trouble yourself to think about how much this computer upgrade will cost you. Today, hard drives are sold for less prices.

You see, buy a new computer is often a waste of money. There is also a move that will add up to already “bloated” landfills, which is surrounded with electronic waste. If you think you or your computer technician can still do a computer upgrade, do it. It is still useful components inside the device, do not make them useless when they are not. More importantly, it prevents you from spending your hard-earned money on the wrong way.

What are you supposed to do in this case? One good thing for you to do would be to purchase a computer that allows for you to easily upgrade particular components. If you choose this option then you will need to know what computer components you are able to upgrade.

Video card and graphics card

The video card and graphics card on a computer will definitely need to be upgraded from time to time. These two components are two of the most powerful components on a computer. After a while they undergo physical wear and tear and their capabilities can diminish. This is going to affect the quality of video images and graphics you see on your screen. Lucky for you these two components are probably two of the easiest to upgrade. You can purchase these online for great low prices and quick delivery.

Upgrading the hard drive

You want to have the most powerful hard drive you can these days, because often you’ll find yourself having to save more hard drive-consuming information than you thought. But it is not information; it is how that information is delivered. A lot of software allows information to be packaged in certain formats such as PDF format, zip files, and torrent files. These files take up more of your hard drive then if information was delivered in simple Word programs. So having a more powerful hard drive will definitely come in handy if you need to store image files, video files and much more.

Upgrading the soundcard

You want the sound on your computer to be loud and crisp. There are many software programs available these days that will require you to have a superior sound card which supports things like speech recognition software. Many people are also into the habit of creating video and online podcasts. An inferior sound card can cause the sound quality to be low. Upgrading the sound card is likely to be something you will need to do at some point during the life of your computer.

There are many other components you can upgrade on your computer and that you will probably need to upgrade at some point but many of the core components mentioned here are the ones that you need to pay the most careful consideration to. Some of these components may cost a lot of money depending on what type of features you want but if you are serious about having a computer that is up to date and gives you the best capability, then this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

If you’re like me, you don’t just want your computer to run its best, you need it to. If you’re getting a slow response from your computer, then getting it back up to speed is top priority.

Your computer could be running slow for several reasons, and there are some quick fixes for most. But this article focuses on the one that isn’t so easy to fix, and what you can do to help. I’m talking about the registry.

First let’s list the easy ones:

1. Full Hard Drive
- Use Windows CLEANMGR to free up some space

2. Adware/Spyware/Virus
- Get some sort of virus protection – it’s cheap insurance

3. Fragmented files
- The Windows Disk Defragmenter can have your files ship shape in no time

4. Opening lots of programs at once
- You can install more memory for a few bucks
- Or, for a few bucks less you can use ReadyBoost
- Or, for free, you can just open fewer files =)

5. Your Registry could be corrupt or bloated
- Learn to use REGEDIT,
- Or get a Registry Cleaner

Let’s focus on the fifth possibility, your registry…

For those that don’t know, your registry is your computer’s frontal lobe. Everything it knows about itself is stored here. I mean everything.

If your computer has a question about how, why, when or where it should do something, it will either ask you, or ask the registry. If it asks you and you give it an answer, guess where your answer gets written down? Yup, in the registry. So basically, your computer won’t cross the street unless it gets permission from the registry.

When new programs get loaded on your computer, they write loads of information into the registry. They put things in here that your computer needs to know in order to run them. Sounds good right? But, what if they make a mistake and write something that confuses your computer? Or Worse; what if you delete the program and it leaves information in the registry instead of removing it like a good program should?

The short answer is that, over time your registry gets errors and it slowly (sometimes not so slowly) gets bigger too. When this happens everything takes longer and your computer’s response slows down.

You’ve got 2 options here; learn to use REGEDIT, or get a registry cleaner.

REGEDIT is not a very user friendly program to say the least. Many books and websites have been dedicated to how to use it to modify your registry. If you go this route, be sure to make backups of critical data and restore points before you even open it. Mistakes here can be costly.

Registry cleaners are easy to use, and they are easy to find; just search for registry cleaner and you’ll get loads of hits. The majority offer a free scan, so definitely look for one that does.

Once you settle on one you like, use it once every week to keep your computer in perfect health and make slow response a thing of the past.

That is heightened by the fact that many an application that is depended on ends up not working as it should. Data is then lost that should not be. Many then wonder what cause a computer to be slow.

A common reason for a computer to run at a slower speed is that it has become infected with a virus. As a result of that infection many problems may occur including a full system crash. Fortunately there is help out there in the form of a program that can protect one’s system from attack. Thus one should go out and find one that comes fully equipped with regular updates to be installed on their machine.

Spyware and adware are another annoyance that can cause a machine to slow down. They sneak onto a system through the web sites a user visits. Thus one can have one of those awful programs downloaded unknowingly onto their machine. There are still other pages on the web that use cookies as a way to track what sites a user visits. Therefore way to ensure privacy must be employed in the form of a cleaner that can rid one’s machine of these unwanted guests.

The registry needing to be optimized is another reason for loss of speed in a system. Errors find their way into a machine’s operating system through actions like the deletion of programs and files. Fortunately there exist programs out there that can fix what is wrong.

Many of the registry cleaners out there are offered for free via various web sites. Unfortunately though there are a few that do just the opposite. They install unwanted programs rather than get rid of them. Thus greatly reducing operating speed.

Unwanted programs being installed on a hard drive is what cause a computer to be slow. Cleaners and other applications exist to get rid of viruses, adware, spyware, and to fix the registry. I personally managed to clean up my computer by downloading high quality registry cleaner software.

Photos, documents, files, and programs are all important components. You maybe have a music collection, a lot of important information and things that if lost, would cause a lot of heartache and misery. Sometimes people keep their entire school portfolio of work online or conduct businesses and work documents are protected on peoples’ personal computers. That is why a virus can be a really devastating thing when it takes over the system of a computer. It can cause serious damage and cause you to lose all of your work.

Sometimes when a virus gets really out of hand and causes all of your applications to quit functioning, you might have to do a system recovery, which will cause you to roll back all your settings to factory settings and you will lose everything you have downloaded, saved, done, and added to your computer. Often when a virus gets that bad, it is impossible to even use your computer normally to save your work or send it to yourself or anything because the virus has taken hold and made ordinary operations almost impossible.

That is why, throughout your computer use, even when it is in perfect health, it is important to make sure that you take precautions as though a virus attack could occur at any moment. If you have very important data, you need to make sure that you back up your files and keep them safe. Back up your photos, documents, programs, and information on a hard drive or some other kind of disk so that they will stay safe and out of harm’s way. You can even make a back up for your back if the material is extremely important. But regardless, keep your back up updated so that if anything ever does happen to your system, you will not lose anything.

Also, when you draft a document, make it a habit to email it to yourself so you will always have a record of it accessible somewhere. Using something like Google Documents is a great way to keep your documents stored somewhere safe so that no matter what happens to your personal system, you will be able to access your important work from any computer. Upload your photos to photo sites like Flickr or Photobucket and keep them there in addition to where they are stored on your system. That way, even if your system crashes, you will still have your photos and important materials somewhere where you can access them. Basically, make sure that everything on your system is somewhere else, too, and can be accessed. You never want to have to cringe when a virus attacks your system and you have to lose all of your important data and work.

Keeping your computer safe with routine virus scans can be a great way to keep this kind of thing from happening and also updating your virus protection software and making sure that it is top of the line can also greatly assist in this adventure, as well.

You should make sure that your hard drive has plenty of extra storage capacity and you should consider upgrading the RAM in the computer. This random access memory upgrade will help with the processing speed of your computer and will help the computer locate new information quicker as it pulls from various sources in the storage.

You should also look to upgrade your processor. The processor, which is housed within the motherboard, determines the entire speed of the computer. You could easily swap out your processor for a much more effective one which would greatly boost the performance of your Windows based computer.

Second, you will need to clear your computer of all bugs that are slowing it down. This is done by downloading cleaning software which will scan your computer for any viruses or bots and erase them. When you surf the internet you many time unknowingly invite programs into your computer that will mooch off of the processing speed of your computer to monitor your actions online and offline. These bots are very dangerous because they can steal your personal identifiable information and they can also slow down the performance of your Windows based computer.

Finally, if you want to boost the performance of your computer you could download a program that will over clock the performance of your processor. You can do this one of two ways. The program that you download will analyze the speed at which your computer currently runs and it will give you an estimate of how much you could increase this speed by running it through this program.

You could also log into the motherboard programming yourself and tell the processor to run at a faster speed if you know how to read code and understand the programming language. Be careful though, because this could potentially damage your processor and could cause a lot more harm than good if not done properly.

A graphic designer will require something that takes into account computer parts that are heavily geared toward graphic design, such as a more full featured graphics card and a vast amount of RAM, while the games tester may want something that will offer a powerful 3 dimensional card and a far more powerful audio setup.

This means that using a service such as the popular companies to build your computer may cost a great deal more for your PC. Building your own computer keeps your costs down and improves the odds that you get something which is built to your specifications and has the operating system that you want, rather than the one which is auto-installed onto their brand of computer.

Building a computer from scratch is among the most interesting and unique hobbies that you can take up. It has the added benefit of getting you precisely what you want from your computer and offering you the chance to customize every aspect of the process.

Most computers that you will buy offer you a minimal amount of things like RAM, hard drive space and DVD or CD Roms. Building your own PC or custom computer will net you the exact items that you want and need and get you the precise operating system that you want. It is probably the best way to give you the most bang for your computing dollar.

Computer parts are relatively low cost these days. In fact, if you know where to look, you may be able to get a great many of them donated to you by companies who are trying to find green or eco friendly ways of disposing of their older computers. Most of them are really not terribly outdated or otherwise in bad shape. Most of the computer parts that you may need can realistically be gleaned from other, or older computers.

This is particularly true if you receive them from companies who try to keep state of the art computers with them at all times. Generally what is donated will be easy to use and the computer parts, hardware, and other components will still be very viable so far as what is commonplace for use, since larger companies tend to replace their computers about every year.

For those who want their computer parts to be literally state of the art, the best place to get them will be at some of the discounted supply parts stores online. Purchasing your computer parts hardware online nets you a much better price, and the ability to put together your own custom machine for your use.

Building a computer from older computer parts may also be done for others. A great way to assure that an older family member has a computer is to solicit donations of outmoded computers and then use those computer parts hardware to rebuild other PC’s which are donated to older residents in your community or given to underprivileged children.

This not only helps the residents in question, but also assists companies in making sure that their older computers are put to good use rather than to become part of a landfill.

A hard disk failure is one of the most serious hardware problems. It’s something that cannot be taken lightly because the data on the disk could be lost forever depending on the severity of the damage. Hard disk failure can occur instantly without notice and other times it can happen over time. Usually there are warning signs when a hard disk is failing over time.

I’m going to show you some warnings signs that your hard disk may be on its way out. It’s always good practice to back up your data to secondary storage before your hard disk crashes.

Warning Sign #1: Clicking or tapping noise coming from the hard drive

A computer hardware problem is imminent if you start hearing a clicking or tapping noise coming from your hard drive especially when first turning on your pc or retrieving a file. This is a really bad sign that your hard drive is dying. When you hear such unusual noises you should immediately back up your data.

Warning Sign #2: Computer is running unusually slow

Hard disk failure is a possibility if your computer is running slow and the slowness cannot be resolved through general maintenance tasks. If you already tried the following: scanned for viruses, remove temporary files and unused programs, check for software problems, defragment your disk and your computer is still slow it’s possible that the hard drive is failing.

Warning Sign #3: Files mysteriously disappeared

If you are missing some files that you know for sure the files were there and nobody deleted them, it’s possible that your disk may have some bad sectors. Your missing files may be sitting on the bad sectors. When your disk has bad sectors this is a sure sign of malfunction.

No, not at all, because you just need to know how to care for it. It is no different then owning a car. If you take care of it, then it will serve you well for years.

1. Antivirus program, make sure you have one installed. Set it to run while you are using your machine to check items you download. Schedule it to run a virus scan on your machine while you are not going to be using it but it will still be on.

2. Defrag your hard drive. This program can be found under “system tools” in windows programs. This will move data around on your hard drive to get rid of junk data not needed and to put data closer together for faster reading.

3. Run Disk cleanup to remove unwanted items on your hard drive. This program can be found under “system tools” in windows programs. This will require you to make some decisions while the program is running. First you will select the drive by letter that you want to cleanup. Then the program will run first to calculate the amount of space it will free up, this may take a while depending on how large your hard drive is. A screen will appear for you to add or remove check boxes. Most of the time the only boxes checked is to remove temporary files and items in the recycle bin. I recommend you only check those and do not use the “more options” tab unless you know what you are doing.

4. Pictures, remove them. Do not use a back ground picture or a screen saver. If you find that your computer is still going slower than normal then set your back ground picture and screen saver to nothing. Most computers come with a video card with enough video memory to make it work well for normal use. But over time the card starts to get over worked and can not handle all the graphics on the screen. This will make your computer work harder to show things on the screen.

5. Air flow, keep it clear. You computer just like you needs apace to breath. The fan inside the computer is very small and can not handle vent blockage. Take a look at the computer case to see where the air is going in at. If you notice that it is from the side and that side of the computer is against a solid surface you need to move it away. But you only need to move it enough for the air to flow. So maybe 2″ would do it. If the air flows in from the front or back then you may not have anything close to it that will cause a problem. You will need to look for dust accumulating on the out side of the computer case. If you see this use a can of compressed air to blow it away. This will also help keep the inside of your computer cooler.

Just follow the tips above and before you know it people will think you are becoming a computer expert.

Here I would like to explain some highly important things about computer format and OS reinstallation that might be helpful to you.

What does it mean by formatting the computer?

If you have discussed your pc problems with any one and got the answer that you have to format your pc, hard disk or operating system, it means that your computer operating system or more than one of the installed components or software are corrupted, damaged or not behaving as it should.

Formatting pc means erase all the data from your system drive (Hard disk drive where you operating system like windows and Linux is installed) including OS and to reinstall whole OS and all the necessary hardware drivers and software application that you want to use in your pc. In short, it freshens up your whole computer working behavior and performance.

Why you actually need to do this?

Simple, because you want to restore the performance of your pc and remove all OS related issues that you might have been facing. You also have to do this step if your pc and whole OS is infected by computer virus and you need to clean it from the scratch.

What risk is involved, can it be done manually?

According to me, formatting pc is as simple as installing any other application software in your pc if you keep some points cleared in your mind. The main risk involved here is the risk of data loss. Here you must understand the risk of loss of data located on your system drive which may be at the locations listed below.

1. My documents.
2. Desktop
3. My Music
4. My Pictures
5. My Videos
6. System drive (i.e. C:\)

You must backup all the data from above location to make it secure from accident loss of data. Now, the answer to another question that, can it be done manually is yes, you must do it your self. Only you need to do is backup your data and what you must have is bootable disk of your computer operating system.

I have seen many people spending money to format their pc or laptop from the computer shop. It seems difficult only until you don’t attempt to do it yourself.
